Chris and Rosemary toast local food Britain's first steps in Sussex

Chris and Rosemary toast local food Britain's first steps in SussexGran Stead’s Chris and Rosemary Knox took their drinks to new heights when they posed for photos high on a ridge at Rudgwick, West Sussex, to mark the launch of revolutionary food project Local Food Britain.

The drinks experts were invited to join other Sussex food producers for the windy photo and were delighted to oblige.

“Local Food Britain is all about supporting independents and helping food lovers to seek out and share the very best produce,” says Chris Knox.

The Sussex launch is the start of a nationwide online network that is set to grow county by county. Sussex was chosen as the starting point because it has one of the UK’s most thriving food communities.

“Sussex boasts an abundance of artisan producers like us,” adds Chris. “We’re hoping Local Food Britain will help boost our profile, not just in the UK but to overseas buyers as well. After all, the export market is growing and our drinks are unique. There’s already a demand for them in places such as Estonia, Lithuania and the Netherlands. Being part of Local Food Britain will help us reach a wider audience.”
